Default XJ Build

I don't know any of you but since I broke my junk at Crozet I'd figure I'd put this up here. I made it about 100' before I cut a tire and busted my power steering.

Specs were

D30 vac disconnect
D35 locked
33's
3.73 gearing
4.5 RK lift.
Nothing special

Now (almost done)
HPD44 front lockright alloy usa shafts with yukon joints
9" rear spool alloy usa shafts and alloy usa spare
5.13 gears
Modified ford radius arms
bastard pack in the rear with deaver spring liner
36" tsl's

I'll post up pics soon.

Actually it was on his property, he wasn't actually present. I was just irretated and decided to hammer it up "Pete's Demise" (I think). I did make it back to the trailer.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention the OTK steering using chevy TRE's. I'll upload the pics tomorrow.

Here is the front with the D30 still in

Here is what the rear will hopefully sit like. Give or take a couple of inches. those are the 36's

Front gone

Radius arms under construction.

2.5" JJ

Crossmember hangs down 3/4" this is a shot without the radius arm mounts on.

Here it is with the mounts. hangs down lower than I want but oh well.

I've go more pictures to take so I'll post up more later.

Had to get a new carrier for the front axle as a result of the low gearing. Should pick it up today.

Picked up the rear driveshaft from Driveline Tech in Boones Mill. Great guy.

Should pick up my new Tie Rod Tomorrow.

Here are picks of the frame stiffeners. 3x3 3/16" channel.

Here is the rear all welded up and in for final mock-up. I'll pull and paint it and assemble the shafts and brakes this weekend.

Still not happy with the rear shackle position. It should be at an angle backwards. I'll see how it does after breakin.

Had a hot water heater emergency yesterday and didn't touch the Jeep. However, today I picked up the completed Axle, Tie Rod etc. Having friends from PA stopping on their way to FL tonight. I won't get to work on it until the afternoon. Then I hope to crank it out. When I say completed axle I mean gears. I still need to finish welding the trackbar mount, add braces to it, install shafts and brakes. Well you get the idea.

Tracbar mount welded and complete. Front axle painted and installed. Screwed up the traction bar mount for the rear, so I"ll install the rear without it and add it later. Need to work on the fron bump stops then finish it up.

Add all fluids.
