Default Generator question

Can you wire (2) generators together and get an increase in the amperage output like you can with car batteries? If so, would you have to have identical wattage output on each i.e. (2) 5000w? What would happen if you had (1) 5000w and (1) 6200w?

Thanks!
Chris

House generators? The answer is a big NO.
The problem is its alternating current and in order to have 2 generators operating on the same line you'd need to syncronize the wave patterns (phase).
There are generators I think by Honda that can be hooked together but normally the best bet is to split your fuse panel and have the 2 generators power totally different devices.

The small Honda generators can be paralled because they are inverter generators, they basically make DC power and invert it to A/C, so by creating more DC current with two DC generators, the A/C output increases. I think that's the way it works anyway!
